Review: My Real Children

My Real Children
My Real Children by Jo Walton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don't know whether to rate this four or five stars, so let's say five. Un-put-downable. But, Jo Walton, why would you want to make it so I can never read www.exurbe.com without crying again??

Review: The Speed of Dark

The Speed of Dark
The Speed of Dark by Elizabeth Moon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book gets inside a part of my head in a way that few books do -- [b:The Last Samurai|190372|The Last Samurai|Helen DeWitt|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348618641s/190372.jpg|376680] does, and [b:Carrie Pilby|89601|Carrie Pilby|Caren Lissner|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1404272791s/89601.jpg|86478] sort of does, but it's easy to think that I see myself in those because the main characters are So Smart and it's self-congratulatory. This is different. I want to get everyone I know to read it.

Review: A Feast for Crows

A Feast for Crows
A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Read/listened February 2015.

I actually liked this one almost as much as A Storm of Swords, once I finally powered through the initial "here are a few dozen characters you've never really met" bit. I'm a little pessimistic about A Dance With Dragons, though. It'll be nice to have Tyrion back, but what about Arya? And Jaime? And WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
